Sarvepalli Gopal (23 April 1923 – 20 April 2002) was a well known Indian historian. He was a Director in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Reader in Indian History at St.Antony's College, Oxford, Professor of History at the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and also Chairman of the National Book Trust, New Delhi.
Some of his works include a three-volume biography of Jawaharlal Nehru, biography of his father, the philosopher-statesman, Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, and British Policy in India (1858 – 1905).
He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1999.
