Sariss is one of the seven Dark Jedi that Kyle Katarn can defeat in the game Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. Players can avoid confrontation with Sariss if they choose to go down the path of the dark side of the force.
She is quiet and reserved, but a formidable opponent in combat and is deemed the most skilled lightsaber fighter of the seven Dark Jedi, relying almost exclusively on her fencing skills instead of using additional force powers.
Sariss knew nothing but darkness her entire life. She was raised by the Prophets of the Dark Side, ignorant of her parentage. It might have been that one of the prophets was her father, but by the way they all abused her, she could never have guessed which. The young woman quickly learned that life was pain and misery. Life was the dark side.
The prophets had agents on several planets. On Tatooine, Sariss worked for Governor Tour Aryon, going by the name Prophetess. She also helped train the darksider Merili, and was often part of the Secret Order entourage sent to the Super Star Destroyer Vengeance to confer with Jerec, whom she'd first met during his time on Dromund Kaas years earlier. She became strongly attracted to the enigmatic Inquisitor and his visions of ruling the galaxy and establishing a new order of Dark Masters. Through violent and masochistic lightsaber sessions, Jerec turned Sariss from one of Palpatine's personal assassins into his quasi-loyal second-in-command. When the population of Tatooine rebelled against their Imperial oppressors following the Battle of Endor, the adept saw the perfect opportunity to disappear and join Jerec.
With supplies in short order after Endor, Sariss took over the holdings of a Panathan mineral baron. In the process, she recruited Yun, an inexperienced boy whom she derived pleasure in manipulating as the prophets had her. Sariss knew that her actions were cruel, but felt she needed to educate the boy in more than merely the dark side, preparing him for the wretched place the galaxy truly was. She likened Yun to a little brother, though having never known the appropriate bond between sister and brother, she couldn't say for sure. She seduced Yun with her beauty and seduction techniques. The Adept of the Dark Side used her charms to turn her boy-in-law into a killing slave. The former blonde assassin taught her new apprentice the blind technique so now she could use him to eliminate the panathan mineral baron, which she did. The Panathan mineral baron begged for life, but Sariss finished him.
Later, in her late twenties, the seductive Adept performs to conduct the dark disciples: Boc, Yun, Pic, Gorc, and Maw to bow before the power of the Dark Side. Unknown to Jerec himself, Sariss clouded her treachery forms so she could muster more Black energies to gain new powers. Palpatine's former servant had been mistaken to have too much trust in her. She even appeared as a prophetess before the Imperial Remnant Officers to keep them under her unchecked powers.
During the search of the "Valley of the Souls/Guardians/Jedi". The former assassin stole the Map held into Katarn's house on Sulon.
In the Light Side ending, she is apparently killed in a duel with Kyle Katarn, after having killed Yun because he betrayed her out of gratitude to Kyle for sparing him, blocking her strike when she attempts to kill Kyle while he is unconscious.
In the Dark Side ending, where Kyle chooses the dark side, he kills Yun instead of her, and she later appears as Emperor Katarn's aide. The sensual Dark Jedi agrees to join the former mercenary into a New Order of Dark Forces.
However, her death was uncertain. When Kyle Katarn defeated her, it seems her arm was still moving. In the game itself she is realized by an computer-generated imagery character but is voiced and played by actress Valerie Wildman in cutscenes after completion of certain levels.
