SARIOLA is a German Black-Gothic-Metal-band.
The history of Sariola begins in 2005. Seven years before, the mastermind of Sariola, E. Konny decided that his band has to play an own kind of music. The result was a very unusual musical mixture between elements of black metal and stavanger gothic metal music, with untypical for the genre lyrics and image. The both of Sariola’s forerunner bands Divina Nocturna / Spectra Selene and Salpherania where disbanded due line-up problems.[1]
In the year 2005, a new band was formed – E. Konny (ex-Divina Nocturna / Spectra Selene, ex-Salpherania), Anagnorisis (P.A.D.L.O., Vredesbyrd) and Silenia Tyrvenis (ex-Salpherania). With new ideas and experience, Sariola begun to record their debut album "Sphere Of Thousand Sunsets" which was finalized in September 2006.
The musical style of Sariola is spread between sympho black metal / gothic metal, with clear elements of death metal, thrash metal and even Industrial. Such a sound mixture is based on very diverse musical influences of the band. Due to Sariola, the band wanted to avoid the predictability and monotony, to keep the music enthralling and to surprise the listener.[2]
