Sariamin Ismail known as Selasih was born in Talu, West Sumatera on July 9, 1909. She was prominent Indonesian writer. She wrote stories for mass media in 16th years old. She wrote for Pujangga Baru, Panji Pustaka, Asyara, Sunting Melayu, and Bintang Hindia. She was head of Jong Islamieten Bond, Padang. In 1934, she was editor Suara Kaum Ibu Sumatera in Padang Panjang. In 1947, she was selected as regional parliament member for Riau province.
