Sardar Singh Agre

Sardar Singh Agre (Hindi:सरदारसिंह अग्रे) is a political leader from Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh. He was born on 1 January 1949 in the family of Chaudhary Panna Singh and Smt Buddho Devi, an Agre gotra Hindu Jat family, at village Kārab in Mathura district. He married to Mrs Pushpa Chaudhary of Uttamgarhi, Atroli, Aligarh.

He got early education at village Badra, Karab, Samkhera. He Did MA in political science in 1972 from KR College Mathura and LLB fromAllahabad Law College in 1975. He has been an advocate also.

He was MLA from Gokul Vidhansabha area from 1980 to 1995 and 1996 to 2002. He was Minister of Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports Departments in Mulayam Singh Government during 1990-91. He was Silk and Textiles Minister in Kalyan Singh Govt. He was Family Welfare, Mother and child Welfare Department in Rajnath Singh Govt. His period of remarkable achievements was 1997-2002.
He has been an instrument in providing OBC job reservation for Jats in Uttar Pradesh. He organized a raily for job reservation on 25 February 2000 in Mathura when Ram Prakash Gupta was Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and he himself was Minister of Family Welfare, Mother and child welfare Department.
