Sarail is located at 24.0583° N 91.1250° E . It has 43854 units of house hold and total area 239.52 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Sarail has a population of 254481. Males constitute are 50.32% of the population, and females 49.68%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 120249. Sarail has an average literacy rate of 22.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
