[edit] Biography

[edit] Early Life

Dylan was born in Bremerton, Washington to a military family. She has a younger sister named Heather and she spent part of her childhood overseas.

[edit] Career

After graduating from Washington State University in 2002, with a Bachelor's Degree in communications, Dylan immediately began pursuing a position as producer with the formerly nationally syndicated Rick Emerson Show, which was then aired on KOTK for three hours every week day. She was given the producer position the same year and it turned out to include the role of co-host alongside Rick Emerson and newsman Tim Riley as much as it did show production.

In addition to the three hour mid-day Rick Emerson Show, Dylan also co-hosted Alternative Mornings on Fisher Communications sister station, Alternative Rock KNRK. She also hosted segments featuring the promotion of local independent bands, in a recurring piece called Band-Aid.

Dylan also joined the CBS morning news on KOIN as the AM traffic reporter.

In April of 2004, KOTK station had become MAX910 and was under the new ownership of Entercom. Due to format changes across multiple Entercom stations in the Portland market at the time, the Rick Emerson Show and Dylan found themselves off the air.

Dylan continued as part of the KOIN morning news, while negotiations to bring the Rick Emerson Show back to the air progressed.

In March of 2005, CBS Radio picked up the Rick Emerson Show and extended it to a fourth (and later, a fifth) hour. Dylan returned as producer and co-host.

[edit] Projects and Notable Appearances

Outside of the radio studio, Dylan has been involved in numerous side projects.

She performed in the now-disbanded Tim Riley Factor, composed of various friends and members of the Rick Emerson Show. They performed original songs, including Gene Simmons (took my girlfriend away), which was later included on The Wonderstrucks' 2007 album An American Education.

She is featured in the 2007 music video for the song ... And It Becomes You by the band Nicodemus.

In March of 2008, she was half of a duo that performed the ObamaRama song If You Like Barack. A parody of Rupert Holmes' Escape, it spoofed the media's infatuation with grass roots songs promoting 2008 presidential candidates. Instead, some in the media mistook it for a legitimate rally of support and it received air-play, including on the Air America Radio network's Thom Hartmann show on April 2nd.

She occasionally models for local companies, such as Babygirl Boutique and Bishops Barbershop web and print advertisements.

Known to the Rick Emerson Show audience as the most social of the cast, she earned the 2007 Barfly Magazine award for Best Drunk. The award is given annually to the individual voted as the most enjoyable person to get drunk with.

Dylan is also found racing in the annual Portland Adult Soap Box Derby, where she and her teammates built and raced an extravagant and gaudy Popemobile in 2007.

[edit] Personal Life

Dylan lives on the southeast side of Portland, with her dog, Muppet.

While she discusses her younger sister (who has been on the air and in studio with the Rick Emerson Show in the past), she keeps a relatively private life. When occasionally discussing a boyfriend or a date, a pseudonym (such as Raúl) is used to protect their identity.
