[edit] History

Sara King was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1982, when it was 40 degrees below zero.[1] She has remained an Alaskan ever since, graduating from Chugiak High School in 2001 and beginning her full-time writing career shortly thereafter. She is an outdoors enthusiast, known for including vivid imagery of her experiences in the Greatland in her poetry and novels. Her works have appeared in numerous short-story magazines, including Apex Science Fiction and Horror, BBT Magazine, and Aberrant Dreams.

Sara began writing at age 4, and wrote her first full-length novel eight years later. In 2001, she wrote her first "After Earth" novel, which later became Book 3 of her newest sci-fi series. Between 2002 and 2005, she filled in the gaps, writing, in succession, Book 1, Book 4, and Book 2. Beginning in 2002 and again in 2003, she attended two Breakout Novel Intensive Workshops with Donald Maass, whom later signed her on as a client with the Donald Maass Literary Agency of New York.[2]

In March of 2007, Sara King was chosen from a pool of 50 candidates to edit Aberrant Dreams.[3]
