Well بكر is disputedly of Arabic origin. And yes, ديار is originally Arabic, but the fact of the matter is that the phrase travelled from Persia into Ottoman Turkey. The existence of the ezafe '-e' marks that the entire phrase must have come from Farsi, and the only reason the ezafe existed in the Ottoman Turkish Language was because it was borrowed from Farsi (it is not seen in other Altaic languages). Therefore, 'Diyaar-e Bekr' IS of Farsi origin (the phrase itself), and does not mean anything in Arabic. We can conclude, then, that the phrase is of Persian origin, though one of the words originally routes from Arabic. Cheers. -Bagrationi 9:46, 20 April 2007.
