Sapporo Esta

Sapporo Esta (札幌エスタ Sapporo Esuta?) is a commercial building complex neighboring to the Sapporo JR Tower, located in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan.

The name "Esta" is derived from the word "Estación", which means "station" and "season" in Spanish.[1] The building was opened as a supermarket, Sapporo Sogo, in 1978. It was bankrupt in 2000, and the building has been closed except for the first and 10th floor.
The Bic Camera, a Japanese chain of stores selling consumer electronics, opened its Sapporo branch stores from the first to 6th floor in 2001, and some other companies such as UNIQLO were also placed their branches in the building. In 2004, the Sapporo Rāmen Republic (札幌ら~めん共和国 Sapporo Rāmen Kyōwakoku?), a food amusement park themed to rāmen, was opened at the 10th floor of the building.
Sapporo Esta is connected with Sapporo Station and Sapporo subway train station by the underway, and neighboured to the Sapporo JR Tower, bus terminal station for a number of routes, and JR Tower hotel.
