I used to be a adamant supporter of Wikipedia, but that first impression waned after seeing one too many "Derek Sucks Balls!!!!" appear imbeded in otherwise okay articles. Still, on further inspection, I began to notice the widespread mediocrity and lack of engaging text, making the encyclopedia look like it was (surprise!) written by a bunch of amateurs. The systemic bias is staggering, as is the control and influence wielded by moderators and even certain users means that contentious articles, such as Peta's, are patrolled and reverted instantaneously. Still, so long as you take everything here with several grains of salt, it is the largest repository of pop culture knowledge, so that has to count for something.
