Sankash Venkatesh is an MBA student at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (Chicago GSB). He is majoring in finance and entrepreneurship.

Prior to Chicago GSB, he was a management consultant at ZS Associates. While he was in ZS-Chicago, he covered a variety of sales and marketing projects including, customer segmentation, marketing performance measurement, brand positioning, sales force and territory design, and incentive compensation design and goal setting. Then, in ZS-San Francisco, he emerged as a sales forecasting practice area expert. Subsequently, along with a senior ZS business partner, he launched and resourced the ZS-India office.

During his ZS days, at a corporate event in Cancun, Mexico, he ate 17 jalapenos securing the second place in a Jalapeno Pepper eating contest.

In 2007, as an MBA student, Sankash summered at GE Healthcare Financial Services.

His educational degrees are: B.E. (chemical engineering), National Institute of Technology (NIT), Karnataka, 1999; M.S. (chemical engineering), The University of Wisconsin, Madison, 2001; M.B.A* (finance, entrepreneurship), The University of Chicago, 2008*.

As a student at NIT, Karnataka, he served as the General Secretary of the Association of Chemical Engineering Students. He was also on the executive committee of The Institution of Engineers (Surathkal chapter).

In 1997, Sankash summered at Nestle. A year later, Sankash received the Jawaharlal Nehru Research Fellowship for his summer work at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. In 1999, he was awarded the “Best Chemical Engineering Student of the Class of 1999”.

In Madison, his academic research focused on "Model Reduction, Parameter Estimation and Experimental Design of Reactors". His master’s thesis findings were published in a textbook, “Chemical Reactor Analysis and Design Fundamentals” authored by Prof. James B. Rawlings of University of Wisconsin, Madison and Prof. John G. Ekerdt of University of Texas at Austin

Born in Bangalore on November 9, 1977, Sankash was raised in Nanjangud, a temple town known for the Ayurvedic medicines manufactured by his grand father Late Sri. B.V.Pandit. The Sadvaidyashala Pvt. Ltd., established by his grand father, produces Ayurvedic medicines that are marketed all over India. In earlier times (1950-70) a tooth powder brand made locally called 'Nanjangud Hallupudi' was also very famous all over Karnataka.

His primary and high schooling were at Carmel English School, Nanjangud and Marimallappas High School, Mysore respectively.

His hobbies include swimming, running, tennis, and skydiving. And he is an avid cricket fan! He loves traveling; he has been to seventeen countries, his recent international destinations being Middle East, Caribbean, and Brazil.
