I have been to Santiago Papasquiro it is a nice place. I have gone to Santiago since I was 5 years old and i think it is one of the best and safest place I have been too. Believe it or not we really dont have that much violence like "cholos" and stuff like that.Thats my place, and i love it!

I know santiago well. I lived there for 5 yrs in the 70's. Graduated from high School. No cholos. But as far as violence... well... Pa que te digo. Let your parents tell you. There is a lot of theft now. We used to be able to leave our doors open. Not anymore. Meth and coke are mostly responsible. We never had drugs back then. Just A lot to drink and of course the violence as a result.

We had 3 movie theaters. Now zero. We had dirt and cobble stone streets. A real charm. People still lived in the ranches where we had dances, fist fights, shoot outs and murders. The ranches now seem like ghost towns. Not much fun anymore.
We would gather in the plaza and the cafe's, talk and hang out whistle at girls. Not now. Nobody walks. Just rides and hides.
Very few were over wieght. We walked and we ate mostly organic foods. No super mercado. Micky Dee's? Super size it? Forget about it. TV? Whats that?

I've lived in Santiago Papasquiaro for 5 years, in fact, i just came from there 2 years ago in October 2005. I can say that it is a safe place, very traditional and rich in culture. Its a small city and that why its not esy for kids to get lost or stolen due to that most of the habitants know each other. The people is very friendly and respectful but of course they expect other to be the same. Unlike many big cities around the world theres is rarely any racism seen or discrimination against certain persons.
