Talk:Santhal rebellion
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sonthal was a term used by the British authority in India to classify Santhals. Even in Rudyard Kipling's City of the Dreadful Night, as in preexisting colonial records, the word Sonthal is used, although the pronunciation for either word was the same. However in independent India, the Santhals themselves as well as the Government of India have preferred to use the term Santhal. My suggestion is that the two articles be merged to the article on Santhal rebellion. User:LordGulliverofGalben
[edit] Short lived?
I don't know anything about this subject, nor do I pretend to. But how can the rebellion be 'short lived' if it lasted 2 years?? Paul Norfolk Dumpling 08:44, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
