[edit] Santa Maria de la Antigua del Darien
I lived in the region near the site of this historical city just South of the town of Acandi. I was managing a coconut plantation there in 1985 for over a year. I went at the time inland using the Atrato River and visited what I was told the site of Santa Maria Antiqua. The person who took me was an elderly gentleman who took me to a farm site where I was shown bricks that were supposedly from the ancient city.
