Sant Keshavadas, although espousing love of God and all spiritual values was unrestrained himself in the area of sex. He was well known for proposing sex to any attractive woman who came his way. These habbits were hidden from his devotees for the most part. Even his wife who now claims to be a guru and head of the family spirituality business hid Sant's sexual habbits. Sant was finally driven from America by lawsuits and died in India in shame.

All of his disciples know about these allegations. So, you are not bursting anyone's bubble here. But, being driven from America in shame, I don't know about that. It is said in the Bible that one is known by his or her good works. Thus, that is what we are judging Guruji on and nothing else. Did he have an obsession with sex? I dunno, maybe. Is that alleged tendency sometimes exacerbated in some great Mahatmas who are married and still immersed in everday life? Indeed, it does seem to be.

But, does this diminish the greatness of this Vaishnava? No it does not. As long as one is in the body, he or she is always subject to Maya, and we should not forget it. The 36 ft tall murti, carved out of 1 single boulder in Bangalore, which is the largest deity of Lord krishna (or any Vishnu Tattva deity) ANYWHERE on planet earth, that he has erected; the very legacy he has left behind (thousands of songs of praise, establishments and literature), and the very fact that he was singing God's name as he left his body (as told by eyewitnesses), are all a testament to his greatness and empowerment by God. Therefore, just by his alleged imperfections while being in the body, we should by no means judge him as an ordinary personality or less.

A study of the lives of some Mahatmas who purportedly or admittedly had this alleged imperfection (both Western & Eastern) might be helpful in giving us more insight and compassion.

Lightdweller, it seems strange to me that you think that having a big statue carved using other people's money somehow justifies the way Sant treated his devotees. By the way, when a thing is commonly known it's not really an allegation anymore, it's a known fact. Perhaps you would feel differently about Sant if he had told you to live as brother and sister with your wife and then gotten up, walked into your bathroom and tried to grope and kiss your wife on the lips. Or if he tried to get you to send your 15 year old daughter to him for counseling.
