Sanyo PLV-Z4

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sanyo PLV-Z4 is an LCD projector capable of projecting a 720p High-definition video image. The primary market is for home theatre, indeed the unit has no speaker system built in.

The projector uses high-contrast 1280x720 LCD panels and has a dual iris system to adjust the brightness settings depending on what is being viewed.

The unit is not bad looking, and has an automatically controlled sliding door that covers the lens system, which helps with the spouse approval factor.

Connections on the back of the unit are:

1 x HDMI, 2 x Component Video, 1 x Composite video, 1 x VGA, 1 x S-Video

There is also a serial connection that is used for maintenance. There is not a socket for automatically controlling a blind. The power requirements are 110-240v, 50-60 Hz. Maximum power consumption is 210W. Weight is 10.2 lbs (5 kg)

[edit] Tweaking

A discussion on the popular audiophile web site [1]avsforum.com has gone into great detail on tweaking the settings to make the Z4 one of the best native 720p projectors currently available.
