Santo Prosciutto

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Santo Prosciutto is a fictional island in the (also fictional) Italian West Indies, acquired by Italy in exchange for part of its colonial possessions in Ethiopia. The island was created in the writings of the columnist Calvin Trillin;[1] it is sometimes used by economists as an example small country,[2] and is cited approvingly by the New York Times’s food writer, Craig Claiborne.[3]
