Santhanam is a popular comedian in Kollywood, the Tamil film industry in Southern India. Santhanam has appeared in a whole range of films mostly as a friendly comedian. His fame started off in a programme called Lollu Sabha and popularity from the small screen level brought him into the big screen. His performance in the Jeyam Ravi starrer Idhaya Thirudan was noteworthy. His acting style is very similar to the vetaran comedian Goundamani.
