Santa Maria la Longa is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 50 km northwest of Trieste and about 15 km southeast of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,412 and an area of 19.6 km².[1]

The municipality of Santa Maria la Longa contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Mereto di Capitolo, Ronchiettis, Santo Stefano Udinese, and Tissano.
