Santa Maria Coghinas is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Sassari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 190 km north of Cagliari and about 35 km northeast of Sassari. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,430 and an area of 22.0 km².[1]
The municipality of Santa Maria Coghinas contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Buroni, La Scalitta, and Longareddu.
