Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán

Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán is a city and its surrounding municipality located in the central part of the state of Oaxaca in Mexico. It is situated just south of the state capital city of Oaxaca and is a component of the Oaxaca metropolitan area.

The city is the fifth largest in the state (after Oaxaca, San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec, Salina Cruz, and Juchitán de Zaragoza), with a 2005 census population of 59,181 inhabitants.

The city serves as municipal seat of the municipality, which has an areal extent of 76.55 km² (29.556 sq mi), and a census population of 65,873.
