Santa Claus Lane is a Christmas album by Hilary Duff, released in 2002 (see 2002 in music). It is her first album but is not counted as her first studio album, Metamorphosis is. It shares its title with a fictional street mentioned in the song "Here Comes Santa Claus" (1947), written by Gene Autry and Oakley Haldeman, and it features collaborations with Christina Milian, Lil' Romeo and Duff's sister, Haylie. Christopher Thelen of the Daily Vault gave the album a generally positive review, though the performance with Lil' Romeo, "Tell Me a Story (About the Night Before)", was panned.
"Tell Me a Story" was given a limited release as a promotional single for the album, and its music video received rotation on the Disney Channel and Family Channel. The album debuted at number 169 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for fifteen weeks, peaking at number 153. It was certified gold by the RIAA in December 2003, and sold 500,000+ copies in the United States.[1][2]
