Santa Bárbara (Portuguese meaning Saint Barbara, also in ALUPEC or ALUPEK and Brava Crioulo), is a village located between directly east of the island capital of Vila Nova Sintra in the eastern part of the island of Brava, Cape Verde. Santa Bárbara is linked with a poor road connecting with the island capital as well as a road to Furna and to the attraction known as Vinagre.

The area around Santa Bárbara contains farmlands in the valley areas and mountains to the north and south. The living standards are in the low range as well as its income, one time, there were no money until the late-20th century. The village is in the island's middle class. Much of the population are farmers and are based in agriculture where banana plantations, pineapple and other crops are common. However, much of the needy materials comes from the island capital and the diaspora. But for other needs, electricity, communications and appliances are partially available in the area as well as phone lines. A part of the necessities comes from the island capital.
