Sanguem is a city and a municipal council in South Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. Notable landmarks include the Sagameshwar Temple, Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park and the Salaulim Dam.[verification needed]

As of 2001 India census,[1] Sanguem had a population of 6158. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Sanguem has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 69%. In Sanguem, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
