Sandy Creek (Michigan)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sandy Creek is a small, shallow, rocky stream in Monroe County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The creek rises in London Township in the north central portion of the county and flows southeast into Lake Erie at Sterling State Park, between Monroe and Detroit Beach.
The creek is its widest, about twenty-five feet, at its mouth and the deepest depth is an average of five feet, which fluctuates heavily due to rainfall.
Its main tributary, the Little Sandy Creek, rises just about a mile south of the main branch and both flow about ten miles approximately parallel to one another until merging about three miles before the mouth.
