Sandra Nasić is a Croatian-German singer. She was the lead singer of the rock band Guano Apes. Sandra was born in Göttingen, Germany, on May 25, 1976, to Croatian parents. She has both German and Croatian citizenship.
After graduating from high school she planned to study Art and Design. But one night in 1994 at a university party the other three members of the future band spotted her. Not long after some discussion she started rehearsing with them. Nasić was originally introduced to the band by a friend who wanted their opinion on a singer he'd discovered for his own project. According to guitarist Henning Ruemenapp, the band "stole" her from him, though they remain friends.
In 2001, she was given an EinsLive Krone award for Best Singer.
[edit] Solo album
After Guano Apes completed a brief farewell tour in support of their greatest hits package Planet of the Apes in February 2005, she announced a solo career (signing with her former Apes' label Gun) with her debut album released on the 29th of October 2007. The album is named The Signal.
