Sandra Amelia Ceballos Obaya was born in (Guantánamo, Cuba, in March 21, 1961.)

She had many exhibitions, among them we can mention in 1985 "Diálogo de Sandra y Manuel Vidal". Galería L, Havana. In 1993 she presented her works "Special de Sandra y su marido". Galería de Arte Domingo Ravenet, Havana, Cuba. In 1997 she exhibited her works in "La Expresión sicógena". New Art from Cuba: Utopian Territories. Access Gallery, Vancouver, Canada. And in 1998 she presented "Mansas porciones". Espacio Aglutinador, Havana, Cuba.

She was part of many collective exhibitions like in 1984, I Bienal de Pintura Jaume Guasch. Fundació Jaume Guasch, Barcelona, Spain. In 1992 she also participated in the VIII Bienal Iberoamericana de Arte Domecq. “América nuestro Continente”. Instituto Cultural Domecq, Mexico, D.F. In 1993 she was included in the 1e Internationale Grafiek Biennale. Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre (MECC), Maastricht, Hollnd. Some of her images were selected to conform "Una brecha entre el cielo y la tierra". fith Bienal de La Habana. Centro Provincial de Artes Plásticas y Diseño, Havana, Cuba, 1994. She participated also in the V Bienal Internacional de Pintura de Cuenca. Museo Municipal de Arte Moderno, Cuenca, Ecuador, 1996.

She has obtained many awards during her life, among them we can mention in 1985 the Mention of Painting. Salón Playa’85, Galería de Arte Servando Cabrera Moreno, Havana. In 1995 she gained the First Prize. Premio Nacional Anual de Pintura Contemporánea Juan Francisco Elso, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba. In 1997 she was awarded of the 1990’s Art from Cuba: A National Residency and Exhibition Program. Art in General and Longwood Art Project/Bronx Council on the Arts, New York, U.S.A. And in 1998 she had obtained the Tittle Residence in the Design and Films Institute.Swizland
