Sandown Guineas

The Sandown Guineas is a Group 2 Australian thoroughbred horse race for 3 year olds at set weights run over a distance of 1600 metres (a little under 8 furlongs) at Sandown Racecourse, Melbourne in November. Prizemoney in 2007 is AUD$401,000.

  • From 1968 to 1969 the race was run over 10½ furlongs (2,112 m).
  • From 1957 to 1967 it was a fillies only race.
  • From 1957 to 1964 the race was run at Caulfield Racecourse.
