Sandestin, Florida

Sandestin is a golf and beach resort in Walton County, Florida, United States. The closest commercial airport to this resort is the Okaloosa Regional Airport (VPS), which is attached to Eglin Air Force Base. Okaloosa Regional Airport is served by eight airlines providing non-stop service to six cities in the Southeastern United States.

The resort has two sides. The Ocean View side consists of several high-rise condominium buildings as well as a Hilton Hotel. The condominium units can be rented out and vary from a small one bedroom type unit to penthouse suites. The Ocean View side also has the Market. At Christmas time, there is a Santa and carolers.

The Bay View side of the resort has mainly low-rise rental units with a few buildings that are no more than 3 stories tall. However, the Bayside Inn, is about 5 stories tall and located across from one of the championship golf courses and next to the beautiful bay. Also, there is the Grand Sandestin, a spectacular hotel located near the Village of Baytowne Warf. The Village has a variety of shoops and resturaunts ranging from seafood to barbecue. The Village also inculdes a playground with water misters.

Activities include golf, tennis, bicycles, casual boats, shops, entertainment, restaurants and nightclubs.

The sand on the Gulf of Mexico is almost pure white with a soft, powdery feel to it.
