Sander Steen (aka "The Kid"), whose given name is Drew Sanderson Steen, was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 13, 1986. After growing up watching his talented older brother Ryland Steen (of Reel Big Fish) excel at the drums, he decided to start drumming himself at the ripe old age of 10. In 2005, he moved out to Southern California to pursue his career as a professional drummer. He has most recently been seen playing and touring with Annie Stela, who opened for Paolo Nutini. In 2006, Sander toured with the indie rock band The Elected. In just the short time he has been out in Southern California, he has also worked with such bands as Paperface, Victory Season, the Summer Obsession, the Secret Mind, and Upperville.
