[edit] History
Sanclerlândia began in 1943 with a settlement along the highway connecting Goiânia and Córrego do Ouro. The first dwelling was a general store owned by Saint'Clair Rodrigues de Mendonça, from Minas Gerais. Soon other houses appeared and the first name was Barreirinho, taken from the stream nearby. In 1958, with the death of its founder, the settlement was called Sanclerlândia. At first a district of Mossâmedes, it got its municipal emancipation in 1963. Today the city is known statewide as the host to the Annual "Jeep Cross" Jeep Competition.
