Sana'a Mehaidli (? - April 9, 1985) was a member of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party who, at the age of 16, blew herself and a Peugeot filled with explosives up next to an Israeli convoy in Jezzin, South Lebanon, during the Lebanese Civil War.[1] Two Israeli soldiers were killed and two were injured.[2]
She is believed to have been the first female suicide bomber[3], and is referred to as the "Bride of The South". It is uncertain whether she was a Christian or Muslim, but this is irrelevant due to the secular nature of the SSNP.
