San Salvatore Monferrato is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 70 km east of Turin and about 10 km northwest of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,629 and an area of 31.6 km².[1]

The municipality of San Salvatore Monferrato contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Fosseto, Piazzolo, Salcido, Valdolenga, Valparolo, and Frescondino.

San Salvatore Monferrato borders the following municipalities: Alessandria, Castelletto Monferrato, Lu, Mirabello Monferrato, Quargnento, and Valenza.
