San Pietro di Cadore is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Belluno in the Italian region Veneto, located about 130 km north of Venice and about 60 km northeast of Belluno, on the border with Austria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,799 and an area of 52.4 km².[1]
San Pietro di Cadore borders the following municipalities: Obertilliach (Austria), San Nicolò di Comelico, Santo Stefano di Cadore, Untertilliach (Austria).
In November 2007, its mayor announced that the town was starting an initiative to collect signatures in favour of becoming a part of Austria instead of Italy.[2]
