San Mateo County Memorial Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

San Mateo County Memorial Park is a 499-acre (2.0 km²) county park in San Mateo County, California, USA, near the town of Loma Mar, California. It is connected by a small green belt to Pescadero Creek County Park. Pescadero Creek runs through the park.

The county acquired most of the land for the park by 1924. The park was commemorated for the men of San Mateo County who died in World War I. During the Great Depression, the park was a project camp for the Work Projects Administration, during which many of the existing facilities were built.
