Club Social y Deportivo San Martín (usually referred as San Martín de Burzaco) is a football club based in Burzaco in Buenos Aires Province in Argentina. They currently play in Primera C Metropolitana, which is the regionalised fourth tier of the Argentine Football Association league system.
[edit] History
In the 1860s the Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway built, 22km from Buenos Aires, a warehouse with a train station, which they named in honour of Francisco Burzaco. The town of Burzaco gradually developed around it.
Around 70 years later the club was formed, with the name San Martín as a tribute to General San Martín, who liberated Argentina and Chile from the Spanish Empire.
Since the beginning of the professional era of Argentine football in 1931, the club has never played in the top two divisions.
