San Marcello Pistoiese is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pistoia in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 45 km northwest of Florence and about 15 km northwest of Pistoia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,998 and an area of 84.7 km².[1]
The municipality of San Marcello Pistoiese contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Bardalone, Campotizzoro, Gavinana, Maresca, and Pontepetri.
San Marcello Pistoiese borders the following municipalities: Cutigliano, Fanano, Lizzano in Belvedere, Pistoia, Piteglio.
