San Luis is a municipality and city in the Pinar del Río Province of Cuba. It is centered mainly on agriculture (tobacco, rice, fruit crops), stock raising.
The municipality is divided into the barrios of Barbacoas, Barrigonas, Coloma, Llanadas, Palizadas, Río Seco, San Luis and Tirado.[1]
It was founded in 1827,[1]and established as a municipality in 1879, when it split from San Juan y Martínez.

In 2004, the municipality of San Luis had a population of 34,085.[3] With a total area of 765 km² (295.4 sq mi),[2] it has a population density of 44.6/km² (115.5/sq mi).
