San Francisco Ocean Film Festival

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The San Francisco Ocean Film Festival is a San Francisco film festival that features films about marine life and the ocean.

The 2008 event took place from February 1-3 2008 at the 450-seat Cowell Theater on San Francisco's waterfront.

Celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2008, this is the first dedicated Ocean Film Festival in North America and the second in the world after the acclaimed 40 year-old Festival International du film Maritime, d'Exploration et d'Environnement in Toulon, France. The San Francisco Ocean Film Festival has become the premier venue for international marine filmmakers to screen their works to a growing North American audience, and has inspired the creation of several other ocean film festivals in the US.

All films selected for the Festival are eligible to compete for awards in Adventure, Culture, Environment and Wildlife categories.
