San Cesario sul Panaro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Modena in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 25 km northwest of Bologna and about 12 km southeast of Modena. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,608 and an area of 27.4 km².[1]

The municipality of San Cesario sul Panaro contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) S. Anna, Altolà, and Ponte S. Ambrogio.
