San Borja is a town and municipality in the south of José Ballivián Province in the Beni Department of northern Bolivia [1].
The San Borja municipality (Segunda sección de José Ballivián) has 34,000 inhabitants out of which 19,000 live in San Borja itself. [2]. San Borja is thus the largest town in the province.

The airport of San Borja has regular services by two airlines: Línea Aérea Amaszonas and TAM - Transporte Aéreo Militar (the Bolivian Military Airline)
By road San Borja is connected towards the south west with Yucumo situated on the road and bus route La Paz - Yolosa/Coroico - Caranavi - Rurrenabaque. Yucumo is halfway between Caranavi and Rurrenabaque. Towards the east of San Borja the road leads to San Ignacio de Moxos and further to Trinidad, the capital of the Beni Department.
