[edit] Adding images

Thank you for your contributions. While adding images to articles, it is best to position an image just above the section paragraph or at the right (whenever possible) to ensure the formatting of the article stays as perfect as possible; you can check this by previewing your edit prior to making it. Templates can also be added to articles by this method {{Template}}, but generally spoiler templates shouldn't be added to sections where there will obviously be spoilers (like the story or character sections, etc.). I've helped format the images and formatting in the Alice Academy and Vision of Escaflowne to that regard. If you need help with anything else, please feel free to ask. ···巌流? · Talk to Ganryuu 16:35, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding List of Alice Academy characters

No, I did not delete Subaru Imai and Shuuichi Sakurano. I did delete their previous section, but I moved the caharacters to the 'other students' section, since they are still students of the Academy. DarkAngel007 18:11, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding images in Bincho-tan (anime)

I'm sorry, the images in Bincho-tan (anime) were captured over a year ago. I do not recall what episodes that they are from. I believe that the source information on the image pages is as much as I can do. --Squilibob 11:33, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Gakuen_Arisu_Fan_Book_Volume_1.gif

I have tagged Image:Gakuen_Arisu_Fan_Book_Volume_1.gif as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. [edit] Princess Comet

The anime and manga genre categories (Category:Comedy anime and manga, Category:Action anime and manga, etc.) don't mean that a series is both an anime and a manga, it simply refers to the genre. Since anime and manga have the exact same genres, the categories were merged to stop series that have both anime and manga from having 6 or 8 duplicate genre categories.

So in this case, "anime and manga" is just shorthand for the type of Japanese illustrated media franchise that they, along with light novels, visual novels, dojin, etc. combine to make up.

Finally, User:Cyde wasn't actually the one who made that change, so complaining to him won't help. He just runs an automatic editing account that completes Wikipedia:Categories for discussion discussions by fulfilling their decisions. Quite a few people were involved in the decision on those categories, and though it was a pretty close decision, it was determined that avoiding redundant categories was worth the minor risk of confusion.

Hope that explains everything for you. Have a nice day. --tjstrf talk 05:26, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Sure thing, I can understand that. Thanks, by the way. Samantha Lim88 03:40, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Hayate the Combat Butler

The light novel information was taken from the Japanese wiki page, and we're not supposed to cite other wikis, so there is no citation as of yet. I guess I could cite a retailer, but that wouldn't be much better...-- 02:41, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Character sections

In the main article page, character sub-sections, such as "main characters", "other characters" or other similar sub-sections such as "faculty and staff", must be decentralized i.e. they must be titled within this format: === === rather than simply == == which can distort the article's overall format. Please feel free to see WP:FICTION and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction) for a further explanation. ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 08:31, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template

If you want some starter code, take it from another template. Take the Cardcaptor Sakura one I wrote, for example. Replace links and color tags as needed. I'm not sure how else to teach you. Hopefully you have a little bit of basic Wiki-markup and HTML knowledge. Luckily you can use the Sandbox or "Show preview" as often as you need to until things get right. --Crisu 04:38, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Black Cat

Samantha, I no longer know what the criteria are for assessing anime articles (specifically, I'm unsure what separates Start and B class articles, which I think is what you're getting at), so I'm afraid I can only direct you to Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Assess and ask for an assessment at the talk page there. Cheers!--Monocrat 13:44, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Gakuen Alice Misaki in the manga.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Gakuen Alice Misaki in the manga.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:38, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use disputed for Image:Cardcaptor Sakura Drama CD 1 Cover Art.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Cardcaptor Sakura Drama CD 1 Cover Art.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:27, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Romanization and the Law of Ueki

Lim, we do not use macrons with Law of Ueki characters because Geneon and VIZ spell their names without macrons.

"In 2004, as part of Clamp's 15th Anniversary, the members changed their names from Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi (pronounced the same, but written with different characters), respectively."

And I can't make out what you it means. "They changed their names from blah, blah, blah, respectively" -OOPSIE- 14:40, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Category:People from Kantō region

A tag has been placed on Category:People from Kantō region, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion G2.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.Marlith T/C 04:28, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Akemi Satō (singer)

A tag has been placed on Akemi Satō (singer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
