[edit] Welcome to the Wikipedia
Welcome, Sam Burke!
Here are some useful tips to ease you into the Wikipedia experience:
- First, take a look at the Wikipedia Tutorial, and perhaps dabble a bit in the test area.
- When you have some free time, take a look at the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines. They can come in very handy!
- Learn about some of the Wikipedia landmarks by trying our Wikipedia scavenger hunt!
- If you need any help, feel free to post a question at the Help Desk
- Wikipedia has a vibrant community of editors. The village pump is a great place to see the goings on.
- Remember to use a neutral point of view!
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Also, here are some odds and ends that I find useful from time to time:
- Wikipedia:Utilities
- Wikipedia:Cite your sources
- Wikipedia:Verifiability
- Wikipedia:Wikiquette
- Wikipedia:Civility
- Wikipedia:Brilliant prose
- Wikipedia:Bad jokes and other deleted nonsense
Feel free to ask me anything the links and talk pages don't answer. You can most easily reach me by posting on my talk page.
You can sign your name on any page by typing 4 tildes, likes this: ~~~~.
Best of luck, and have fun!

[edit] Image:Tomb Raider Legend Boxart.jpg
I've uploaded a version of the PC box art over the original PS2 box art The reason being that there isn't the massive "Playstation 2" bar over the top, making for a larger image of Lara Croft herself. I hope that's OK with you. - Hahnchen 10:53, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- That's fine, thank you for letting me know! - Sam Burke 12:42, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] IE7 revert screenshot
Hey there! I was just curious as to why you reverted me changing the screenshot from XP to Vista on the IE7 page. I'm happy for you to leave it the way you like it, as I'm sure you've got a good reason for the revert, but I'm just curious to know what it is. Thanks :) — JeremyTalk 12:53, 26 October 2006 (UTC) P.S. You can reply on this page — I'm watching it.
- Hi Jeremy! We did discuss the use of the Vista screenshot in the IE talk page, it was decided that while as Vista is not broadly available, a XP screenshot should be used instead (people would wonder why their IE looks so different). Hope you can understand my reasoning in changing it :) Sam Burke 16:25, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:OpenSUSE 10.1.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:OpenSUSE 10.1.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:06, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
