SameerKhan is better known as Sameer ud Dowla Khan (সামীরুদ্দৌলা খান), a graduate student in UCLA's Department of Linguistics. My main interests lie in linguistics, languages, culture, transportation, and urban planning. Pretty much anything that involves human interaction - ironic, considering I'm a lonely graduate student!
As a linguist, I am most interested in phonological phenomena such as reduplication, vowel harmony, intonation, etc. My area of most interest is the phonology of Magadhan languages including Bengali (বাংলা), Assamese (অসমীয়া), Sylheti (সিলটী), Chittagonian (চাটগাঁইয়া), and Oriya (ଓଡ଼ିଆ), among others. I am also very interested in the orthographic systems of many languages.
