Talk:Samus Aran's gunship

[edit] Point of this article?
This appears to be Wikipedia:Fancruft to me. There isn't enough information to expand the article past its current state, so I suggest merging with Samus Aran or Metroid series. --Poiuyt Man talk 03:29, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
- I actually agree with this, and I believe it should be merged with Samus Aran. I'll add the proposal if I can figure out how. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:38, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

- KieferSkunk, check your dates. That motion was made in Sept 2005, a year and a half ago. The page was completely reworked by various people since then, and the merge flag was removed some time ago. Angel the Techrat 21:10, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Then I'm suggesting AGAIN that it be merged - see my reasons on Talk:Samus Aran. Basically, with the article in its current state, I still believe it should be merged. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 23:45, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name change
Should we change the name to "Samus's gunship," given that that's the correct use of the possessive?HFNC 09:08, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Isometric views
I think the isometric views give a much better idea of what the ships look like. The current artwork picture of the Adam ship is better than the screenshot that was up before, but the screenshot used for Zero Mission gives no real idea of the wing shape, the way the previous art picture did. The cleanest and clearest image of the Echoes/II/Super Gunship would likely be a screen shot of the trophy from Super Smash Bros. Melee, if anyone can aquire one. If actual screen shots are still wanted, I propose a uniform format of two views for each Gunship. Angel the Techrat 16:49, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Keeping in mind the fancruft comment further up, I'm a little leery of including non-screenshot artwork unless the images are sourced to either one of the games' galleries (like the Metroid Prime gallery) or an official Nintendo site.
- But also, do we need such exhaustive detail on this ship? Specific designs and implementations are mainly cosmetic, but there are very few functional differences between each of the ship's incarnations in each game, and most of the noteworthy features (like the front window's similarity to Samus' visor) remain the same or very similar in each case. It does seem like we could merge this article with Samus Aran without losing much useful info. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:37, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
