This article is categorized in "Living people", but per Gigantic prime Yates is no longer living; this Google Book Search result gives his date of death in April, 1991. This Google News archive search (derived from the text of the preceding book) reveals what appears to be his obituary in the Palm Beach Post, and gives his age at death as 71.
