[edit] Relationship with Ben Ellis
Apparently, according to Barks' sister on the official Sam Barks Facebook group, the stories about Sam dating Ben Ellis are just rumours, as are the stories about Sam dumping her current boyfriend via a newspaper. Obviously I don't have a reliable source for this other than a link to conversations on Facebook, but I just thought I'd mention it on the talk page. – PeeJay 22:08, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- hmm, not really sure then! I know it is sourced but I added "claimed" simply because it was a report in a news story rather than any official confirmation. Maybe it is ok to leave it in for now with the word "claimed". Not really sure though about the validity on wikipedia of facebook groups or whether it could be mentioned that it was denied on there?♦Tangerines♦·Talk 22:18, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

- I've tried to find a reliable source where either of them refute the claim, so far without success, all I can find are the reports of the claim. Given the ip edits I've amended it very slightly and will keep an eye out in case something crops up where either of them officially comment or confirm anything. I've tried to word it as a claim rather than fact bearing in mind we are talking about two living people here. Ah well Jodie to win..... :) ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:23, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

- As mentined above, stuff on facebook is not a reliable source. In addition it quite clearly states "claimed" it does not say "they are in a relationship". As I said above, I have tried to find something where either of them deny the story but without success (and not facebook), but I will keep looking just in case something is actually officially stated.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:47, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

This whole discussion isn't needed. It is a rumour from a tabloid article. That doesn't belong in a wiki article, just imagine what every wiki article looked like if every rumour ever printed in the tabloids was put in, "claimed" or not. Just leave it out until you are sure there is a relationship between the two. (i.e. When they have both officially confirmed that they are dating.) It says underneith, Encyclopedic content must be verifiable! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Buurvrouw (talk • contribs) 19:39, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
- Please have a read of this WP:VER which clearly states, "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—meaning, in this context, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think it is true." And yes it does say content must be verifiable and that is why it is verified. You seem to misunderstand though, the fact that a claim was made in a national newspaper (which I will amend it to) they were dating is verified. That is what has been verified, not whether they are dating or not. And the article does not state they are dating, nor does it say that anyone on here thinks it is true.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:44, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

- The article quite clearly states, "In May 2008 it was claimed (and I have now inserted "by a national newspaper") that Barks was dating Ben James-Ellis." That in no way states they are dating, it states what is claimed. And again, verifiability not truth. I have though added about it being denied (with a fact tag though for now) Have fun. :) ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 20:03, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

The adds good! :) x--Going2move (talk) 20:13, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Why have you changed it back? It just proves that Wikipedia is unreliable with its so-called facts! It isn't true, so why put it? lol--Going2move (talk) 01:12, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
