[edit] tendentious editing

It appears that 24.60.26.138, a GIPU user, has developed an extreme WP:OWN problem with this page. Further action may be needed to protect the page from overly possessive editing. ThuranX 20:43, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

He's ceased for several hours. I think I got through him. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 20:50, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Major Cleanup in Progress

Seems this article has suffered from neglect - I've begun sourcing everything properly and re-writing it so we have a more encyclopedic tone. This could take a while. Not sure what's up with the tags looking the way they do - userbox issue, maybe? Either way, they'll come down once the cleanup is finished, so there shouldn't be that big of a deal. Sidatio 22:13, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

That should do the trick for a while. The stage part could probably use some fleshing out, but I'm not really a theatre guy. Sidatio 02:38, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Date of Birth removed

In accordance with Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Privacy of birthdays, I pulled the month and day of Harris' birth. Sidatio 14:09, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

I restored the day and month of birth. If you had bothered to read the section it says IF the date is not widely publicized it WILL NOT be included. OR if the person himself objects. A simply Google search reveals over 500 entries with his birthday including Month and DAY and YEAR. Since it is already widely available and Harris has not objected it SHOULD be in there.

[edit] We need a better picture

This one's throwing off the infobox badly. Does anyone have a better picture we can use? Sidatio 22:20, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

it's been righted, SqueakBox 22:26, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, it's decent for now, but it could be better, you know? Maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist, but should we really be cutting off part of his face? I mean, if this is supposed to be for a celebrity (and this celebrity supposedly has "representatives" that can post protected content like professional images), shouldn't there be a better pic? Don't take it as me critiquing your work - I'll bet cropping that image was a pain, and it DID have to be done to comply with copyright regs. Don't know who to talk to about it, though - the supposed list appears to have been taken off of his site that listed the permitted parties to use copyrighted material. Any ideas? [edit] The Class Episode Count?

Is the info correct? Wasn't he in 9 episodes?

  • The Class Reunites (Pilot) (Ep1)
  • The Class Visits a Hospital (Ep2)
  • The Class Blows The Whistle (Ep4)
  • The Class Gets Frozen Yoghurt (Ep5)
  • The Class Goes Trick or Treating (Ep6)
  • The Class Celebrates a Birthday (Ep8)
  • The Class Gives Thanks (Ep9)
  • The Class Has a Snowday (Ep16)
  • The Class Goes Back To A Hospital (Ep19)

He was supposed to appear in The Class Springs a Leak (Ep17) but his scenes got written out and didn't air.

Regardless, he was credited with Springs a Leak according to the IMDb. If anyone has a better source, let me know. It's #6 on the References list. :-) Sidatio 18:32, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Okay, he was credited, but he didn't actually appear in the final cut. I'll just edit it as 9 episodes, cut from 1 episode.Jamie jca 22:23, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

The important thing to note here is verifiability. Do we have any reliable sources we can cite that say he was cut? If so, we need to list that source. If not, it's best to leave it be. Sidatio 23:36, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, the way it reads at present goes right against the best source we have for his TV credits. Since the criteria is verifiability, not truth according to WP:V, we need to verify this or revert. Sidatio 23:38, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Reverting until a verifying reliable source is found. Sidatio 12:56, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
It's probably not but, is the actual episode on the CBS Innertube a good enough source?
Good question - I'm not really sure. I know YouTube isn't acceptable. The other issue at hand would be that we'd have to find another source for his TV filmography that wouldn't contradict the Innertube information. TV.com substantiates the info, but it's unreliable as the information is user-submitted. What we need is a reliable source that gives his whole TV filmography - we only have one at present. Find that, and we're good to go from what I can tell. Sidatio 19:23, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] When His Professional Career Really Started

Sam's professional career started no later than February, 1979. I went to high school while Sam was still there (he was a year older). Sam left high school in mid-February, 1979 {citation: Charles Page High School 1979 yearbook, p. 150}, which was a few months early; he would normally have graduated in May, 1979. Sam's last performance at CPHS was "Bye Bye Birdie" (Sam played the character named Albert), which was performed on Dec 7-8, 1978 (p. 122).

Sam left high school so he could "go on a cross-country tour with Opryland" (of Nashville, TN) (p 96) called "I Hear America Singing" (p.150).

Sam had actually performed in public even earlier at Tulsa Theatre and Six Flags over Mid-America during the summer of 1977, and at Opryland, USA in the summer of '78 (p.150).

Sam got nationally-known from the Star Search competition mentioned in the article; though this is when he became famous, he'd already been working professionally for a number of years. Jofisher 11:53, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
