[edit] 309 or 312?

Regarding the 309/312 argument about the triples, Glory of Their Times records it as 312, as do many sites on the net. That appears to have been the accepted record for a long time. It's only recently that it's changed, based on a new counting, to 309 (I've been researching this, hadn't got around to changing the figure) -- Varitek

I don't care for recounting and restating records myself (isn't juicing the ball and bringing in the fences enough?), but I believe that 309 is the "official" number. vudu 11:13, 29 Oct 2003 (UTC)

[edit] All-Century team

and was nominated as a finalist for the Major League Baseball All-Century Team.

Was he? he's not on the wikipedia page as one of the top 100. Someone should take that out unless someone can show that he was on that list. Mglovesfun 19:46, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
